A Critical Mass - Cinemix 2010

The Cinemix, an intermedial, multidimensional und and multi-sensory masterpiece, is the live presentation of the redubbing of a silent movie classic. It is undisputedly one of the most interesting and challenging facets of Jetztmusik. The images of a silent movie are updated by being underscored with new music and at the same time, the score is anchored and clarified by the images.

For the Jetztmusikfestival 2010, the formation "a critical mass", consisting of the artists Henrik Schwarz, Âme and Dixon, will be redubbing a silent movie classic. The film "Das Cabinett des Dr. Claigari" was chosen not only for its expessionist force, but also because it is a milestone for the horror genre. "a critical mass" are known for their innovative power and their intense exploration of electronic music, making musicians and movie a perfect match.

CINEMIX 2010 MIT "A CRITICAL MASS"

Der Cinemix, eine live präsentierte (Neu-)Vertonung eines Stummfilms, gehört mittlerweile zu einem wiederkehrenden Highlight der Jetztmusikfestivalwoche. Dieses Jahr übernimmt "a critical mass", bestehend aus Henrik Schwarz, Âme und Dixon die vertonung des Stummfilms "Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari", welcher einen Meilenstein der Filmgeschichte darstellt. Die kraftvollen und dramatischen Bilder welche vom Film geliefert werden, benutzen "a critical mass" live für eine ebenso dynamisch elektronische Sound-Übersetzung, die im Atlantis-Kino eine Weltpremiere darstellen wird. Seid dabei wenn sich alte schwarz-weiß Filmkunst mit elektronischen Klängen verbindet.
